Floristry Workshop

Ash Tree Floral Designs’ next workshop at The Old Post Office is on Sunday 19 July from 11am-1pm. Workshop guests will learn floristry skills from Ashley, an award-winning tutor. You’ll take your bouquet, made from locally grown blooms, home with you. Skills for life! Book your place through Ash Tree Floral Designs’ website.

Help a coworker

Coworker Lara is looking for participants for her masters research! It's investigating how our relationships with our coworkers affect our attitudes to people who differ from us outside the workplace - an area that I'm sure many of you will find important. She needs pairs of people working at the same organisation with an age gap of 10 years or more to fill out two surveys. If you and someone else working at your organisation are willing to take part, see the attached flyer and/or email [email protected] for more info. Participants will be entered into a prize draw as a thank you.

Note, the flyer asks for a 15 year age gap, this is preferred, but if you don’t have coworkers with this age gap a 10 year gap is also helpful for this research

What’s caught our attention:

  • The ongoing situation with Stirchley Cooperative Development is rubbish, isn’t it. We’re staying up to date with news via SCD’s instagram, coworker Dorit, and the Loaf newsletter, which you can sign up to here.

  • Via Birmingham Open Spaces Forum - there's still time to apply for the Community Matters Fund, with up to £2,000 for community organisations. The fund supports green space improvements across the Midlands - Birmingham groups are eligible. Deadline is 5pm Friday 26 June. Apply

  • They came, they drank, they headed home at 3pm - Birmingham Dispatch on Britain First’s Saturday gathering.

  • The Big Ride for Palestine takes place nationally, and in Birmingham, on Saturday 1 August. Register: www.thebigride4palestine.com/

  • Stirchley’s next Community Market is on Saturday 27 June from 10am-3pm - save the date. www.stirchleycommunitymarket.com

  • I’ve been playing keywords.bagpuss.org most days, and I’m truly terrible at it. Maybe you’ll fare better?
