How’s your March treating you? If you need another reminder to get out for a walk, you might be interested in Stillwalking Festival, taking place next month. One event promises: ‘A meditation on the surviving slivers and vestiges of archaeological evidence in familiar streets that tell an intriguing, if nearly invisible, Birmingham story’. Read on!

We are open this week for coworking Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with Pendra, Erin, Ev, Fiona and Ellie.

Registered address service

Set up The Old Post Office in Stirchley as your registered address for a small annual fee, and support a small business by doing so. This means you don't have to include your home address or personal details in your company registration.

What’s caught our attention:

We are always happy to share what you’re working on, especially if you are part of the coworking space community. (In case it isn’t obvious, no one pays us to include their events - they’re all things we’ve (mainly I’ve) come across from spending too much time on the internet while naptrapped - Kerry). If you have anything you’d like to share PLEASE DO email: [email protected]

  • Tonight it’s Stirchley Neighbourhood Forum’s March meeting. ‘The subject will be drainage and pollution, and we should have a representative of the City Council to update us on pollution.’ Minutes of the February meeting are online here. If you can attend tonight, all Stirchley residents are welcome, and it’s from 7.30pm at Stirchley Community Church, the building opposite Stirchley Baths/Anjuna Lounge.

  • There are only two more days left for Artefact’s Crowdfunder - the Stirchley you love now, was built by communities such as Artefact. It would be a real shame for them to not reach their target! Support their crowdfunder if you can!

  • BRIG, Beyond Racism, Unite the People and Stand Up to Racism Birmingham are joining forces to organise transport to the Together Alliance national mobilisation against the rise of the far right - on Saturday 28 March. A coach will be departing from Digbeth, and all are warmly invited to join it. Details/tickets via eventbrite in a solidarity pricing structure: £10-£25.

  • Stillwalking Festival returns in Spring with city centre walks. Since going on several of Ben’s walks over 10 years ago, I have never looked at the city centre in the same light. As a starting point, you may like Relics of New Street ‘A short but packed survey of the lesser-noticed aspects of the city’s most familiar street. A 'ghost walk' of sorts, being a forensic combing of New Street for the remnants, vestiges and lost streets that show how the city’s shops, cinemas and squares have changed over time.’ read the programme online - it’s not obvious when you glance: you need to click on the events for the booking link.

  • The next People Against Poverty curry and pub quiz at Patiala in Stirchley is on Monday 27 April. Grab a coworker/friend or five (teams of 6 allowed) and sign up.
