  • On Tuesday 3 March, from 10am-12noon at the Old Library (Digbeth) there’s an International Women’s Day networking morning with host Mazzy Snape. More info/tickets on eventbrite (free).

  • Another IWD event, SheCreates have an event at the MAC from 11am-3pm on Sunday 8 March, featuring markets, workshops, music, poetry and dance. ‘Expect hands-on workshops in art, poetry and arts bid writing, live performances from women and gender-expansive musicians, and opportunities to connect with Birmingham’s creative community.’ More info/tickets.

  • Tim Evans is holding online, peer-led Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) community of practice meet ups on MS Teams. Right up my street. The next one is 17 March at 10am, email [email protected] if you’d like to join.

  • Walk Space West Midlands and Friends of Stirchley Library have started a new book club - from Wednesday 18 March at Stirchley Library, and then every month on the 3rd Wednesday. From 6.30pm. Members choose the books by vote. The March book chosen by current members is W. G. Sebald's - The Rings of Saturn. For more details either email [email protected] or DM them on instagram. The book club is free. The books aren't provided, however a sharing system will be set up at the library.

  • Stirchley local Rupert Cole has created an original soundtrack to JEALOUS PEOPLE ARE UGLY PEOPLE which you can watch on BBC iPlayer or listen to via other methods here. Music to work to!
