We’re no longer using substack, hello TOPO newsletter on BeeHiiv. Things may look a little different in this week’s newsletter.

We are open this week for coworking Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with Pendra, Erin, Ev, Fiona and Ellie.

Give coworking a go

If you’ve been thinking of trying coworking what’s stopping you? (All kinds of things?)

Can we tempt you to try it out this week?

A half day is £8.50, and includes all your teas/coffees and biscuits. You can spend time in a different environment where you can focus on whatever it is you’re trying to do, with connection to your local community, supporting a local independent business.

“As a permanently remote worker, it’s great to have somewhere to go to change the scenery. Lots of coffee, wifi, plugs, comfy chairs. Everything you could want.” — Max

“A beautiful and calm shared working space for when working at home is too distracting. Conveniently located for lunches.” — Camilla

“I’ve achieved more this morning than I usually do all day working at home. I’m thinking of taking the afternoon off.” — Danielle

A half day booking entitles you to spend your time with us from 9am-12.30pm, or 1.30pm-5pm. If you join us for the morning, and enjoy it SO MUCH you want to extend your stay, just book the afternoon slot before it starts. Full day bookings are 9am-5pm (we don’t close at lunch) and a school day booking is 9am-3pm.

What’s caught our attention:

We are always happy to share what you’re working on, especially if you are part of the coworking space community - email: [email protected]

  • Friends of Stirchley Library volunteers run a friendly coffee (and tea) morning at Stirchley Library every Tuesday at 11am. ‘It’s always a pleasure to sit and have a natter with such a diverse group of people. Feel free to come along, or let friends and family know it’s on.’ (we’ve mentioned it before, but if you have a 0-5 year old, StoryTots takes place just before at 9.45am.)

  • Queer Mehndi Night is at Loco Lounge every second Thursday of the month. ‘Tucked away from the bustle of the high street, we mark our calendars with this monthly ritual to gather, connect and rest. Fresh henna cones are provided for everyone to share. Test your henna skills out on a friend or just come to meet new people. Mehndi Nights is especially for South Asian lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans people, queers and those questioning.’ The next date is this Thursday 12 February. Tickets

  • West Midlands Hongkonger Support CIC are holding a Lunar New Year Market taking place at Stirchley Baths on Saturday 14 February from 11am-4.30pm. There will be a lion dance, karaoke, market stalls and carnival games. Fun! Event details over on instagram.

  • Falasteen on Film present We Build Worlds with Sheffield Doc Fest during half term, Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 February at the MAC. This is a family-centred event where all are welcome; a space for reflection and community, especially as Ramadan begins.’ More information.
