There’s a silent disco at Moor Pool in Harborne on Saturday 31 January, £10pp, All proceeds in aid of the Moor Pool Heritage Trust Refurbishment Project. Info/Tickets.
The Quarter Workshop’s Evening Jewellery Course is back (in the JQ). Starting 3 February, 6–8.45pm, ‘this is the perfect way to begin your jewellery-making journey. Relaxed evenings, expert guidance, and time to create something truly your own.’ The Quarter Workshop is headed up by coworker and local Victoria. More information.
Side Dish is an annual event series across Birmingham, pairing great food with live comedy. Not only do the events support local hospitality but also raise money for Anawim - Birmingham’s Centre for Women. You can have breakfast for dinner at The Den in Stirchley on Thursday 5 February, served up with a side of comedy. Info/Tickets.
You may know that when The Old Post Office was closed during the pandemic, a pop-up baby bank took up residence. If you’ve been wondering where you can find a local baby bank, you can donate items to Elayos. They’re currently looking for baby baths.
Culture& is looking for an emerging or early career researcher/curator with an interest in working on a new programme ‘addressing the uncanny and its contemporary relevance when we think of what home means.’ The deadline for applications is Monday 9 February. More information.
