The weeks are hurtling by, and our annual open weekend for Birmingham Open Studios is approaching! More on that, and other things that have caught our attention, below.
The Old Post Office is open for coworking Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with Bryn and Mark, Pendra, Erin and Ellie. Don’t forget we offer School Hours too, which are 9am-3pm.

The Old Post Office will be open for the first weekend of Birmingham Open Studios with six exhibiting artists -
The event is a great opportunity to meet local artists - and have a peek inside the coworking space if you haven’t been before. We won’t be set up for coworking, but you can get an idea.

Seasonal workshops
There are two seasonal floristry workshops over autumn/winter at the coworking space. Ashley from Ash Tree Floral Designs is leading:
Floral Pumpkin Workshop on Monday 27 October, from 7pm-9pm (limited spaces remaining)
Festive Garland Workshop Thursday 11 December, from 7pm-9pm

Music to work to: Quiet Wild
Composer Chloe Knibbs, friend of TOPO (and previous coworker til she moved to London!) has contributed to this new release, Quiet Wild. Have a listen while you work this morning.

Weekly coworker Kirsty Devaney has a chapter in the newly published second edition of Debates in Music Teaching, edited by Chris Philpott and Gary Spruce. ‘The first edition was an important book for my own development as a PhD student, so I’m honoured to contribute a chapter alongside such important authors in the field.’ (Kirsty was working on this at the coworking space!)
This evening (7.30pm, Monday 8 September) it’s Stirchley Neighbourhood Forum, at Stirchley Community Church. Find out what’s going on locally including news, planning matters and community events.
Birmingham Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers are taking part in Heritage Week for the first time on Saturday 13 September. Drop-in for an exhibition of their 76-year history, to try weaving and spinning, and for homemade cake. Free entry.
Stirchley restaurant Verbena have restarted their newsletter after a summer break. Last week’s edition contains news of a Bake Sale for Palestine, in collaboration with Blow Water in Kings Heath. The fundraising sale will takes place 10.30am, Saturday 20 September at Blow Water Cafe Kings Heath.

Creative community, Creative Boom, have an in-person event at Kilder in Digbeth, Thursday 25 September, 6pm-8pm. More information on designer Keith Dodd’s instagram
And lastly, I went to Stirchley’s latest new opening, Lemonworld, last week after the school run. I am sure I will be a regular! They are open Wednesday - Saturday, 10am-3pm, and they are based on the left hand side of Clonmel Business Park which is just off Charlotte Road. More via their instagram.

school hours (9am-3pm)
