Hello all,
Our big news last week was that we’ve bought an air conditioning unit - which of course, is slightly less exciting, now the heatwave has passed, and we’re all able to open our curtains again - but is sure to be appreciated when the next one hits.
Huge thanks to Pendra and Phil for getting it installed just in time for Friday evening, when twenty singers filled TOPO with music as part of the C90 Community Chorus (more below). And apologies for the slightly clickbait-y subject heading, couldn’t help myself.
The Old Post Office is open for coworking Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with Bryn and Mark, Pendra, Jen and Ellie.

I’m an instrumental teacher, write and perform my own solo music, one tenth of local mega folk band The Destroyers and co-founder of Birmingham Folk hosting traditional music workshops and events across the city. I absolutely love having the dreamy spot of TOPO right on my doorstep to bring much more joy (and productivity) in to my long admin days and meeting like minded creatives”

C90 Community Chorus
Join Sounds Local CIC for Stirchley’s latest singing group, held every Friday, 7–9pm at The Old Post Office. Come along and sing your heart out to hits from ‘the best decade in pop culture!’ (the 90s). The group is open to people (18+), who want to come together and sing for fun, to make new friends, and maybe to perform the odd gig in public in future. Spaces are limited to 20 so make sure you book on - your first time is free.

Fatt Projects are holding a Fill in the EHRC consultation together meet-up at The Saloon Bar, Hare and Hounds, Kings Heath, tomorrow evening (Tuesday 24 June), drop in any time between 5.30pm-9pm. There will be helpful guides to fill out the consultation which ends 30 June - bring a laptop/device so you can fill out the form. More info via instagram
The West Midlands is hosting a first We Demand Change Question Time event on Tuesday 24 June, with a panel of speakers including campaigner Andrew Feinstein and Stop the War patron and local campaigner Salma Yaqoob. The event is free to attend - More information online
Dance Co-operative Birmingham are celebrating their residency and membership programme on Wednesday 25 June, at the Dance Hub (Birmingham Hippodrome) at 6pm, with an after party at Cherry Reds from 8pm. DCB is a member-owned, artist-led community providing studio space, CPD and resources to freelance dance artists in Birmingham. More info via instagram

Stirchley Open Cinema’s Pride Month screening for 2025 is a special 10th anniversary screening of Oscar-winner TANGERINE (2015, Dir: Sean Baker, Cert 15, 1h 28m) at Stirchley Baths, doors 6:30pm, film 7pm. Stirchley Folk Club will host a special afternoon of music on Sunday 29 June, 3–5pm at Ascension Stirchley. The acclaimed Abi Budgen will headline, supported by Brummie musician Ruth Lindsay in her first solo set, featuring original compositions and traditional tunes. Tickets are £10 on the door (cash only), with free entry for children

a half day (9am-12.30pm / 1.30pm-5pm)
full day (9am-5pm)
school hours (9am-3pm)
With no ongoing commitment needed (though we’d of course love to have you back).
If you’d like to start something more regular here, you may like to consider a discounted monthly membership such a half a day a week / one day a week.
