This newsletter is heavy on coworking space news - with reminders of *three* things that are happening here in June - the start of C90 Choir, a wedding flowers workshop and Stirchley Sewing School. More below.
We are of course also open for coworking!
Tuesday*-Friday this week, 9am-5pm, with Pendra, Jen and Ellie. Wednesday evening coworking is paused while our evening keyholder nests ready for a new baby.

We have Jack Spicer Adams, our photographer (who I’ve been working with for nearly 15 years 😯!) booked this morning taking photos of the coworking space - Jack took some brilliant photos for us in 2022 and we’d like more! This time, with people other than me (Kerry) in them - especially because it isn’t just me keeping TOPO going these days. We are all booked up for this morning however we’ll be open as usual this afternoon and for the rest of the week. Book your desk online.
C90 Community Chorus
C90 is a weekly singing group coming soon to The Old Post Office in Stirchley by Sounds Local CIC. Join in and sing songs from the best decade in pop culture!
It’s open to people (18+), who want to come together and sing 90s songs for fun, to make new friends, and maybe to perform the odd gig in public. Weekly sessions start 6 June (10 days time!), from 7pm-9pm.

Stirchley Sewing School (based at The Old Post Office) have a couple of spots available at the next Absolute Beginners day class. CIVIC SQUARE invite you to *multiple* events and offerings taking place every day at their home in Ladywood, from today until Friday (Tues 27 - Fri 30 May), with activities for all ages as part of Site As A Classroom. There are tours, co-building days, cladding with timber workshops, exploring natural pigments and paints, supper clubs, co-design, a repair club - and you can even board a bellboat. Have a read through the programme!
SURGE Forward invites musicians of all levels to join Instant Orchestra, a one-day workshop at the MAC led by five professional musicians. Bring your instrument to collaborate and create a unique orchestra, culminating in a live performance. The event runs from 11am to 3.15pm on Sunday 1 June. Tickets £7.95, with accessible and companion options available.
Gulf Photo Plus, GRAIN Projects, BCU, and The British Journal of Photography present Slidefest Palestine on Tuesday 3 June - 6pm-8pm at BCU/Margaret Street. Slidefest is an evening of photographic presentations by Palestinian artists and those in the diaspora. All proceeds go to Medical Aid Palestine. £5pp - book your ticket here.
Friends of Stirchley Library have a brand new monthly mending café, launching Saturday 7 June, 10am–12pm at Stirchley Library. They will be there every first Saturday of the month with tools, threads, and tea. More info via instagram.
The A38 Cycleway (Mobility Lane) turns 6 soon. Join A38 Coalition on Saturday 7 June for a led ride, help to get the counter at Sir Harry’s Road up to 6,000 in a single day, and come tell them what journeys the current lane and future extensions will enable for you. Via BlueSky.
Our Fat Joy Book Club have a side quest: in June, Queer Draw Brum will welcome Zee from Decolonyze Urself as their guest life model. A queer South Asian writer, activist, and life model, Zee celebrates fatness, sexuality, and self-advocacy. Tickets available via Queer Draw Brum.
