This week's Music to work to playlist is an uplifting, upbeat mix of songs by Louise Deakin, Heritage Engagement Officer for Selly Manor."At the museum I'm part of a very small team (equivalent of 4 full time staff). We welcome nearly 7000 school children each year to teach them about Tudors, the Great Fire of London, and Bournville. This and talking to visitors, designing and delivering events, working in partnership with local groups and organisations, carrying out research and putting on exhibitions and talks, means we need to give a lot of energy to each day. There's not the opportunity to listen to music while I work but safe to say, these are what I'd have on repeat if I could. A good dose of pop, Motown, and life affirming lyrics. The one song is a bit tongue in cheek about women, but it's a bop, and I love that the holy trinity (Cher, Winona, and Christina) change it to a feminist chant in 'Mermaids'.We have events coming up, including pumping carving, Trick or Treat all half-term week, a murder mystery, and handmade Christmas craft fair.
