The coworking space will be closed all of AugustTime for a break! August was *so* quiet last year, and I already feel the coworking space quietening down. It's best I take the break while everyone else is, and get some much needed R+R (lol who am I kidding, I have a toddler!) or at least book in some DIY at the coworking space.Our last day will be Monday 31 July, reopening on Monday 4 September. Stirchley Sewing School will continue as normal in the evenings
One off half day taster sessionsFor the rest of July, you can try the coworking space for a half day session for £5. Either: Morning 9am-12.30pm, or afternoon 1.30pm-5pm. Get in touch via email with your date + whether it's a morning or afternoon you'd like to book, and I'll send you the one off payment link and get you booked in. Round it up to a full day if you like. When payment is received, and it's in the calendar, your booking is secured. Hopefully see you soon!T&Cs: This is for July only. Payments on the one off half day passes are non-refundable, and once you've sent your date and session, paid for the date, it's non-transferable to another person, and it's not guaranteed I'll be able to rearrange your date/session within the timeframe. It's me doing the admin manually on these, whereas the booking platform is much easier - hurrah for automation.

Blow Water in Kings Heath continue to put on all kinds of brilliant events outside of restaurant hours, from jazz cafes through to candle making (19 July), modern batik (23 July) indigo dyeing (23 Aug) and the Dumpling Room (5 August) at eighteenclub, which is part of XYZ, a corporate membership coworking space in the city.
Friends of Cotteridge Park, Stirchley Open Cinema and Flatpack have joined together to screen Isle of Dogs in Cotteridge Park, Friday 18 August, the film starts at dusk (around 8.30pm). Book online and bring a camping chair and blanket.
MIST invasion is a fundraising event to support the establishment of the Midlands Immigration Support Team, 25 August, 6-11pm at The Edge. Food, drink, DJs and local artists
Weekly regular Julia Tanner has an article published in Source photography magazine - What do we feel about cats? Cats on the internet as means of expressing human emotions. Julia worked on this article in the coworking space! Get your copy here.
This coming weekend it's the JQ festival, great timing following the news of the JQ Neighbourhood Plan being voted in by residents and businesses in the area. Dual Works have a Spotlight on Olivia and Birmingham Design Festival have a maker's market at The Joint Works
