Hello,New week, new newsletter! And this one marks my 50th newsletter - woo! It's a long one so I'll get stuck straight in.Thanks for being here.— Kerry

If you've ever wondered what the prints are at the coworking space - they're some of London's drain covers - brass rubbings by Marina Willer from Pentagram. The series is called Overlooked and was exhibited at London Design Festival in 2016. And the other day, Alice realised she went to the original exhibition! Small world! I was given the publication by a GFSmith paper consultant a few years ago and pulled apart the pages.

The Clear Space's regular wellbeing walk.  "Join me for a weekly wellbeing walk! It's totally free and a great way to finish off the week. We walk for an hour at a pace that suits everyone. This isn't about cardio, it's about getting some fresh air, daylight, and gentle movement."

What caught my eye last week:

  • Two of my design friends/peers - Lisa Barrett and Kate Farrell - are speaking at a Wolverhampton School of Art Alumni event for International Womens' Day - Weds at 2pm - Women Unite

  • The Hedge are host to local jewellery designer Ellie Ingram's Make A Daffodil - Wax Carving Workshop on Thurs 23 March

  • Women between the Lines; Birmingham Civic Society have a guided walking tour Sat 25 March celebrating the untold stories of women in Birmingham

  • Network Rail has announced there will be public tours of the inside New Street Signal Box on the afternoon of Friday 31 March – with free tickets allocated by random ballot. Tickets are sold out but I'd follow the Network Rail eventbrite page in case other dates are added

  • Saranjit Birdi (MAC artist tutor) and other artists will be at Grayson’s Art Club: The Exhibition III: Meet the Team Behind the TV Series at MAC on Fri 31 March

(see last week's links list here - there are some dates for things this week/during March)

Coworking space noticeboard

  • Lost property is growing! There are some cute earmuffs with owls on, a black and white loop scarf, and a navy blue insulated water bottle. Are they yours?

  • The dishwasher is now plumbed in - woohoo!

  • The loose leaf teas need using up. I'll be replacing them over the next month. Why not try something you've not had before and use one of the compostable tea bags. I can recommend the smoky lapsang souchong

  • I have a new broadcast-only whatsapp group for regulars/coworking space hosts and friends - if I don't have you on Whatsapp already and you'd like to join it, please let me know by replying to this email. I'll probably only post once or twice a week and if last week's anything to go by, it will be putting in orders for pastries.

Ps. Here's the link to book in your desk for the week - see you soon!
